In 2019 a nonprofit Endowment was established through the Delaware Community Foundation under the control of the Friends in order to plan for the future and build a self-sustaining fund that doesn’t rely on an annual contribution from the Delaware Legislature or any other entity. Similar to the Friends account, the money can only be used for Delaware veterans with no administrative fee beyond a small charged by the DCF. Donors may contribute specifically to that by noting the word “Endowment” in their check memo or by noting it in online contributions.

Note: All money, whether contributed directly to the Trust Fund, to the Friends, or to the Endowment is handled and accounted for through the Commission of Veterans Affairs with an annual state audit.  

A follow up acknowledgment letter noting a tax-deductible contribution will be sent to each contributor.
